I made a mistake in one of my posts. At the last minute before publishing, I changed a question into a more confident statement. Two minutes after the email went out, I realized I left out a word: "you more likely" should be "you are more likely." Oops!!
It's not that big in the grand scheme of things, but I still felt a little bad.
Maybe I should proofread my posts using AI, was my next thought.
But, like, that's not the point at all. I write these posts, by hand, because I'm sharing my true experiences and what I've learned. Sometimes those experiences have typos.
This is way closer to a live performance than an AI generated video. Thank goodness.
We've helped share the real, lived expertise of many trans folks and allies:

A little ask for money is incoming, just a heads up. But stick with me for a minute.
Did you know: we now offer 1-year gift subscriptions! This is a one-time, not recurring charge, and your lucky recipient gets a 1-year subscription to enjoy all of our free & paid content!
You might be thinking you already subscribe to a bunch of things. Let me guess, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify, and protein powder? Great. Fine. But Amplify Respect is different - we are not supported by corporate dollars.
I've shared how much it costs to publish this newsletter, if you're interested:

I know some of you are out there paying for entertainment. Maybe you are going to The Slutcracker (yes, that is The Nutcracker, but make it queer, body-positive, and slutty). Maybe you are going to drag shows and joyfully tossing dollar bills at the performers. That's great. I am also a performer, in a way, and I am asking for your dollar bills to continue sharing joy and advocacy.
Maybe you're paying for AI tools. Maybe not. The motivation to do so is relatable: you'd like easy access to a world of condensed information at your fingertips. I do something similar, in a way - I answer questions and provide curated information - but what you're getting from me is experience and trust.
I cite my sources, whether they are direct quotes from people I've interviewed, scientific publications, or my own experiences. I try my best to provide objective, fact-based information. I also hold to a baseline that trans people exist, and are worthy of respect, as are we all.

I've been reading some public end-of-year financial totals for other publications, and it's fascinating to see how much they spend on tech tools, fees, and other expenses that are not directly benefiting writers.
Amplify Respect is small and really efficient. Your money goes towards the writing, and towards our ability to keep this going into the future.
We're heading into the winter, a time that may feel even more isolating depending on your weather and lack of sunlight. Gathering in community and sharing stories is the best way to fight isolation. I'd love to grow our community offerings even further, but to do this I need a little more funding to work with.
We are going to continue to play above our weight class, but Amplify Respect is truly small and not financially viable at the moment. I need your support.
If you have already contributed, thank you so much!! You are one of the less than 3% of readers who are helping continue this work. I truly appreciate you.
