Hi friends,
I’ve decided to move Amplify Respect from Substack to Ghost. Some of you may have strong opinions about this, others of you may have no opinion at all.
Basically, you don’t need to do anything - you will continue to receive this publication in your email inbox as expected, and view the posts on the website at the same URL, amplifyrespect.com. I will be handling the tech migration on my side and expect it should go fairly smoothly and seamlessly.

For my paid subscribers, your subscription will be transferred to the new platform. I have sent out a warning that you might receive a cancellation message. If you do, please disregard it. I will personally and individually check each subscription to ensure it is correct.
I’ve found a lot of community and made some close friends on Substack. I won’t be leaving the platform entirely - I plan to keep my social account and continue posting and engaging with Substack Notes. Perhaps I can keep some of the best of both worlds.
I realize that some people may not read newsletters outside of Substack, and I am taking a risk by switching platforms and hoping that you’ll come with me.
I have a few reasons for doing so:
- I am interested in prioritizing the people who want to hear directly from me in their email, rather than growing Substack’s user base
- I would rather pay a flat fee for hosting rather than Substack taking a 10% cut of all paid subscriptions. I’m planning more paid content and would like to provide more value and benefits to paid subscribers, coming soon
- Ghost is open-source software and my values are more aligned with their organization, which I feel better about supporting financially
One note - I have transferred the posts to the new platform, but not the comments. The comments do not automatically transfer over. I will not delete the original posts or comments - the plan is for them to remain at reykatz.substack.com as an archive. I know a lot of the value of these posts is in the discussions. I’m still figuring out if copying some comments over manually is the best thing to do or not.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about this migration.
I appreciate all of your support over the years I’ve been writing this, and hope to continue being in community with you all for a long time!
Take care,
Rey
