I sent out a newsletter about birds and got a handful of unsubscribes. 😱😂
I got a message from someone commenting on how I do so many different things for work.
Yep.
What's the secret to ignoring your niche, waving goodbye to your lane, and writing about nature culture as well as human culture?
It's all about your audience.
Here's what I mean:
Some people are going to be incredibly bored by someone who has a tight niche. Only write tutorials about how fitness instructors can grow their in person attendance in Houston? I mean, I wouldn't subscribe, personally.
But someone who writes entertainingly about their adventures in Houston as a fitness instructor and also shares some business advice once in a while? Sure, I'd read that.
I'm not saying having multiple niches is better than having one focused niche. It's just going to attract different people to your work.
And you've got to own that.
Your. Work. Is. Not. For. Everyone! 👏🏼
So how do you find the people your work is right for?
